Fintan Gunne is a scrum-half whose pathway links Old Belvedere RFC, St Michael's College, Terenure College RFC, UCD, Ireland U20 and Leinster. He started rugby with Old Belvedere RFC, came through St Michael's College, then played AIL rugby with Terenure College RFC while studying commerce at UCD. That gives him a rounded Leinster pathway: school, club, university, underage Ireland and province.

His Ireland U20 profile was a major step. Gunne was one of the main figures in the 2023 Ireland U20 Grand Slam side, scoring against England in the Grand Slam decider in Cork.
