Jerry Cahir is one of the strongest late-developer stories in the current Leinster squad. A Roscrea native and former Cistercian College Roscrea prop, he built his senior reputation through the All-Ireland League rather than arriving as a standard academy graduate. His route ran through Old Belvedere RFC, Dublin University FC and Lansdowne FC before Leinster brought him in on a short-term senior contract in September 2025.

That AIL grounding is the core of the profile. Cahir won Dublin University FC Player of the Year in 2024 and Lansdowne FC Player of the Year the following season, making himself difficult to ignore at Division 1A level. When Leinster needed front-row cover, he was ready to make the jump.
